look@this DORK! mygoodness.

today is FLY TO THE SKY'S BRIAN JOO'S BIRTHDAY! its going to be over in like 10 min! haha. anywayz. fly to the sky, is a Korean R&B Duo. love their voices! dont think alot of people know about this duo, but YOU SHOULD!
today i read the news of their coming-back. ITS LIKE FINALLY! the korean scene right now seriously need talents like these 2. they are the ones who quitted SM entertainment and signed on with PFull Entertainment. The duo stated that they wanted a smaller label that was willing to promote them as musicians and focus less on commercial success. SEE! now there are too many pretty faces, with serious lack of training, sucks at singing poppin here & there. COME BACK & SAVE KPOP! seriously i dont care if they cant stand a chance against Big Bang, SNSD, or even TVXQ! with their comeback this year. they are real musicians. RESPECT THAT!
now lets back into this post's title :
painful sacrifice.i saw today's news about Singapore's first tattoo show. { you can read about it
here &
here } it struck me. i hv read abt yakuza moon previously. the first book which i have read in less than a week
{yes, dun laugh! i m a vvvvv slow reader. & its hardly tt i read} & after i read the book, i begin to see many tattooed ppl walking in the streets. not those usual small piece of art. THEY ARE HUGE! & multi-colored. u know i begin to think many just tattoo for the fun of it. its painful, but its for showing off or scare off ppl. to me tattoo is a
piece of fine art, something that is
meaningful, something that
potrays emotion/character/personality/an element, something that captures your eye and
not discrimination. something that i wouldnt want to have when i just hate it the next minute. tattooes stay with u
FOR LIFE. it cuts you deeply. make it tt every tattoo carries a meaning, a turning point or maybe a lesson.

{ shes the author of the book }
the following pictures are mostly taken from asianart.org { the Asian Art Museum's monthly Matcha event } tgt with flickr & deviantart & yahoo images. heres a paragraph about tattooes & traditional art:
Tattoos have actually long been a part of Asian culture stretching back thousands of years in China, Japan and Southeast Asia. For a large part of last century though, a tattoo was seen as a counter cultural mark in many Asian cities.
Conventional tattoos are done using machines but traditional tattoos from places like Thailand and Borneo are done using rods and nails which some say can be a lot more painful. A Borneo tattoo is done manually. The ink is hammered into your skin, leaving a design which gets darker over time, unlike conventional tattoos where the colour fades over time.
There’s also a long history associated with some of these designs,wrist tattoos were believed to stop the soul from escaping the body while dot tattoos between the thumb and index finger used to indicate that one was a headhunter.
A more mystical tattoo experience is the Thai Sak Yant performed by a monk.It is the Thai interpretation of the Buddhist and Hindu scripture and serious practitioners see it not only as body art, but also as a spiritual commitment.
